The studio, not an agency

Spurlock Studios LLC is a Michigan LLC operated solely by William Spurlock. This is a one-operator design-first AI engineering studio — not an agency, not a team. Using this website does not create a client relationship; that only happens when we agree in writing to a scope of work.

The site vs the work

Prices and "from" figures on this site are invitations to scope, not standing offers. Final scope and pricing are confirmed in writing after we talk. I reserve the right to decline work that is not a fit.

How scoping works

• The call: thirty minutes. We map the system, I tell you what it would take, and if it is not worth building I say so on that call.
• Written scope: you leave with a written scope you can read, argue with, and take elsewhere. Yours to keep.
• No discovery invoice: there is no fee for the privilege of a quote.
• Response time: I reply within 24 hours. Scheduling defaults to Eastern time unless we agree otherwise.

What you buy

Four practices: AI Visibility, Automation, AI Agents, and Websites — plus optional Fractional CTO work. Each engagement is scoped individually.

Audits, sprints, and pilots ship a deliverable you keep. Credits and pricing are as printed on the relevant service page at the time of scoping.

Who owns what

You own the code, the JSON, the repos, the domains, the accounts, and the API keys. Builds ship on your infrastructure. You pay model providers and hosting directly. Nothing is hostage to my continued involvement — no lock-in CMS, no proprietary runtime you cannot escape. Plant-touching work is in scope. I do not invent compliance claims. Owned code and JSON still transfer.

n8n workflows are JSON files you own outright.

What I need from you

Real access to the systems we are building on — credentials, admin rights, and an approver who can make decisions. Accounts and API keys should be set up from day one, not blocked waiting on procurement.

Support and retainers

Thirty days of support is standard on builds. If something I built breaks, that is my problem to fix.

Retainers are monthly cancel-anytime unless you opt for a 3-month or annual commitment (which carries a discount). Details on any discount or commitment term are specified at scoping, not assumed from this page.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for lawful use of anything I build. That includes outbound mail (CAN-SPAM, GDPR), scraping (terms of service of the sites you scrape), and any regulated-industry compliance that applies to your business. I can advise on patterns, but compliance is ultimately your responsibility.

No guarantee of citations or rankings

AI Visibility work is a process, not a warranty. I cannot guarantee that any AI model will cite you, rank you, or recommend you. What I deliver is the infrastructure and content that makes you visible — what the models do with it is outside anyone's control.

Limitation of liability

The site and any deliverables are provided "as is." I do not warrant uninterrupted service, and I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Liability is limited to fees actually paid for the engagement in question.

Production systems depend on third-party APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Cloudflare, etc.) that can change or fail. I design for resilience, but I do not control those providers.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Michigan.

Changes

I may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
