Linktree is a leak — build the house
Spotify does not send you the fan’s email. Instagram rents the following. Linktree is a hallway with no register. The House is the owned room: site, membership, checkout, follow-up.

Spotify does not send you the fan’s email. Your site does — if it is built to.
Instagram rents the following. Linktree is a hallway. Discord is unpaid labor unless someone is paying. The House is the room you own: homepage, membership, merch or tickets, the email that still works when the app changes the rules.
The leak
The default path is:
Instagram → Linktree → Spotify → gone.
The fan meant well. They hit listen. The platform kept the relationship. You kept a stream that does not introduce you next time.
The fix is not a prettier Linktree. The fix is:
Instagram → your URL → email or membership → merch, tour, community.
That is the diagram on /artists. I have already shipped twenty artist sites. Cinema-grade motion is the craft. The missing sentence on this studio was money. This note is that sentence.
What The House is
A bundle frame. Not a new SKU. Not a new price.
- Creator Site at $3,500 — the house with a lock. Tour, listen, join, buy.
- Business Site at $8,000 — the house with a register. Membership, checkout, CRM, a blog you can run.
- $1,500 sprint — see the house before you buy the build.
- Content rails and onboarding — the show is over. The follow-up is not.
- Visibility — when someone asks an AI for artists like you, it should find the house.
If Skool or Circle is not enough and you need your own membership V1, that is the Product Platform. Your own register. We only go there when the hosted room is actually the bottleneck.
Proof without invented numbers
The stills you have seen — $UICIDEBOY$, The Wrecks, KYLE, Neon Trees — are owned destinations. Tour, merch, catalogue. I will not write a fake merch lift under any of those names. The work proves the house can exist. It does not invent a checkout rate.
Influencers with reach and no register
Same house. Different merch.
Courses. Drops. A paid Discord, Skool, or Circle. A brand-safe media kit that is not a Google Doc with dead links. If you have the following and the money still happens in DMs, you are renting the register too.
The first fifteen seconds still have to do one job: listen, join, or buy. Pick one for week one.
You already have Linktree
Keep it as a temporary redirect if you must. Do not keep it as the product.
A Linktree cannot hold a membership. It cannot hold the email. It cannot tell a model which URL is the official house. Every extra link is another place the fan can leave.
I wrote the older version of this argument as musicians need a website instead of Linktree. This hub is the money version.
You already have Discord
Keep the room if people live there. The House is how they find it twice, pay for it, and hear about the drop without you pinning a message at 1 a.m.
Automation can post the show notes and the onboarding. It should not spray the server without a yes. Brand-sensitive acts already know why.
The house spokes
The leak is the diagnosis. These are the rooms:
- Discord is unpaid labor — keep the room; put a register on the URL.
- Creator Site or Business Site — $3,500 lock vs $8,000 register. Pick after the sprint.
- A media kit brands can steal —
/kitfor sponsors, not a booker EPK. - After the show is not you at 1 a.m. — human-gated follow-up, not a thumb at load-out.
Where to start
- Build the house — sprint if you want to see it first.
- Already have the cinematic site and no register: send the brief and say so. We do not rebuild the film. We add the lock.
- Door in their language: /artists.
Will this replace my label site?
No. The label site can stay. The house is the URL you own when the cycle ends and the publicist moves on.
Do I need a community platform picked first?
No. We can ship the site with a join path that points at the room you already have. Picking Skool vs Circle vs your own register is a week-one question, not a blocker.
Can I keep Bandcamp / Shopify?
Yes. The house links to the register you already trust. We do not migrate a catalogue for sport.
I am not a musician.
Same leak. If the following is rented and the checkout is a bio link, you want the house.

Websites
Websites The shop site that answers the phone
A Midwest shop does not lose the job to a prettier hero. It loses the job to whoever looks real and picks up. Here is what the site has to do on a Saturday.
Websites A media kit the brand can steal in sixty seconds
Influencers need a brand-safe /media or /kit with rates and demographics you can stand behind — not a Google Doc with dead links. This is not a booker EPK.
Websites Spec buyers will not order what they cannot see
A forge or architectural-metal site is a spec packet: commissions, process, materials. It is not a tap-to-call HVAC homepage. AllCity is the phone. Matt Coffey is the work.
Websites A cultivation site is not a wellness brand
Cultivation sites sell lots, COAs you actually have, and wholesale inquiry — not a leaf on black with invented medical copy.
